A less obvious holiday destination in the Kingdom, Casablanca is a vast, sprawling modern? city with more than 5 million inhabitants, making it the sixth largest city in Africa. With the two most significant airports for visitors after Marrakesh, a huge port, and an abundance of commercial and industrial activities. The coast is often breezy in summer and therefore feels several degrees cooler than inland. The most interesting sites to visit:
* Old medina, which lacks the charm of many others in Morocco
* The beach area of Corniche
* The Hassan II mosque; it is open to (respectfully dressed) non-Muslims, one of only 2 mosques in the kingdom where this privilege exists .
